ZONING
Ballyfore has been earmarked as a possible Sráid location under section 2.2.8.4 of the Offaly County Development Plan 2003 - 2009. Offaly County Council are looking to encourage the development of new villages known as 'Sráids'. The Offaly County Development Plan 2003 - 2009 suggests that 'Sráid' locations should be existing settlement clusters that should be permitted to grow large enough to support its own local services which should include schools, churches, a doctor's surgery, a post office and a shop/public house.
